MEET Terri Erickson
TERESE (TERRI) ERICKSON, CS
I am grateful for the inspiration, guidance, strength and healings I have gained throughout my life from the teachings of Christian Science. By the time I graduated from the University of Minnesota, I had a strong desire to serve the interests of humanity through the teachings and practice of Christian Science. This desire led to serving as a Christian Science chaplain in the United States Air Force for 26 years. The Chaplaincy was a wonderful avenue for serving God, Church, and country; for bringing a healing response to military members of all faiths wherever they were stationed; and for ensuring the free exercise of religion for service members of all faith groups.
Just as I was retiring from my work as a Christian Science chaplain, a new Christian Science Nursing facility opened its doors in Minnesota. For the next 3 years, I had the privilege of serving as administrator at Beacon Haven where I gained a deep respect for the work of Christian Science nurses and witnessed some wonderful healings members of our Christian Science community experienced while staying at Beacon Haven. I continued to support this healing ministry for another 3 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the organization, as well as by devoting more time to the Christian Science healing practice.
Five years ago, I was hired by The Mother Church to be the Christian Science Endorser for the Armed Forces. This entails recruiting, training and supporting Christian Science chaplains for all branches of the U.S military. Today, as a direct result of my life-long love for Christian Science, I am the Committee on Publication for Minnesota, the Christian Science Endorser for the Armed Forces, and a Christian Science practitioner.
